GEODEMIOLOGY®
Geodemiology is a unique
analytic tool that utilizes diverse sources of medical data combined with
sophisticated statistical modeling and spatial analysis to identify patient
prevalence locally and globally. For example, use of the Geodemiology process
can create specific disease population estimates within a designated proximity
of an existing or proposed research site. In addition, prevalence data that
reflects geographical disparities on a county-by-county basis can provide a
study sponsor or clinical trial management organization with a valuable tool for
clinical trial site selection. We can also search our database of all
investigative sites to help pre-qualify those with the greatest recruitment
potential. With regard
to clinical trial recruitment strategies, use of the Geodemiology tool
can ensure that recruitment tactics are targeted to reach the largest
concentration of prospects in the most cost-effective way. Ultimately, the
Geodemiology model can also lay the groundwork for successful product launches
by directing resources toward markets with significant patient populations.
